Put the phone down.

Not forever. Just for tonight.

Don’t Text Your Ex Tonight is a practical breakup survival guide for the exact moment when you miss them, your judgment is tired, and one small message suddenly feels impossible to resist.

The audiobook begins by helping you get through the immediate urge: move the phone, calm your body, stop feeding the spiral, and wait for the wave to pass. From there, it explains why reaching for an ex can feel almost physical after a breakup, and why sending the message often replaces one kind of pain with several new ones.

You’ll discover:

This is not a command to never speak to your ex again.

It is a way to stop making emotionally loaded decisions at midnight and give the calmer version of you a chance to decide in the morning.

The audiobook also includes a practical companion guide to help you get through the hardest moments without reaching for your ex. It includes the 20-Minute Rule, the Unsent Letter, the Daylight Test, a Highlight Reel check, and a seven-night no-text practice.

Read the opening

Before anything else, do one thing for me. Turn your phone face down. If you are listening on it, that is fine, leave this playing, and put it screen side down on whatever is next to you. A table, the bed, the arm of the sofa. Good. Now take your hand off it. I am going to guess a few things. It is late. You are tired, and you are possibly not entirely sober. There is a message, either already typed or forming in your head, and it is to someone you are no longer with. Maybe it is long and honest. Maybe it is three casual words that took you an hour. Maybe it is just, hey. And every part of you is saying that if you send it, you will feel better. I am not going to tell you that you can never speak to this person again. I do not know your situation, and that is not my decision to make. I am going to ask you for something much smaller. Not tonight. That is the entire agreement between us for the next hour. You are not deciding whether to get back together, or whether they were right for you, or whether you will be friends one day. You are only deciding about tonight. If, tomorrow, in daylight, rested and clear, you still want to contact them, we will work out how to do it well. That is the last chapter, and I mean it. There is a proper test in there, five questions, for whether a message to an ex is a good idea.
